Kaiser Health notifies millions of a data breach

On Thursday, the U.S. government was notified of a data breach at Kaiser Foundation Health Plan that affected millions of its members. The healthcare provider, known as Kaiser Permanente, reported that 13.4 million residents had their personal information compromised in the breach.

Kaiser Permanente stated that there have been no reports of any misuse of the information that was accessed, but as a precautionary measure, they notified around 13.4 million current and former members and patients who accessed their websites and mobile applications. The breach has also been listed on the Department of Health and Human Services’ breach notification portal.

This incident underscores the importance of protecting personal data and maintaining cyber security measures to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information. Healthcare providers must remain vigilant in safeguarding their systems to protect patient privacy and maintain trust with their members.
