Corey Seager of the Rangers exits game due to shin contusion

Texas shortstop Corey Seager was forced to exit the game against the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday due to a left shin contusion. The incident occurred in the seventh inning when he was hit by a pitch thrown by reliever Austin Voth. Despite being struck on the back leg by an 0-2 pitch that bounced in the dirt, Seager initially remained in the game after receiving attention from the medical staff.

After the Rangers’ 5-1 win, manager Bruce Bochy noted that Seager’s status for the next game would depend on how he felt in the morning. Bochy expressed concerns about Seager’s ability to play in Thursday afternoon’s game due to his swollen left shin following the incident.

Seager had already missed a significant portion of spring training due to sports hernia surgery that took place on January 30. The team will be closely monitoring his recovery and making decisions accordingly in the coming days.
