Celebrities Using Chatbots to Interact with Fans on Instagram

Instagram’s director of fashion collaborations, Ava Chen, has introduced a new program that will enable influencers to engage with their followers through direct messages on the platform. The program, currently named Creator AI, is set to expand to comments in the future. The platform will deliver an AI-driven chatbot that mimics the influencer’s voice and possibly creates an avatar to automatically respond to fans in a more personal and authentic manner, leveraging artificial intelligence technology.

The initiative aims to help influencers with large followings stay connected with their fans while alleviating the pressure of responding to a high volume of messages and comments. Most of the messages will be sent automatically, clearly stating that they are AI-generated responses. This will allow influencers to focus on creating content while leaving the communication aspect behind.

Content creators will have the option to select the data Meta uses to imitate their expressions and create a virtual persona to interact with fans based on the influencer’s past responses and engagement. This feature will enable influencers to provide a more personalized experience for their followers, which can lead to increased engagement rates.

Meta representatives have declined to comment on the specifics of the program or its potential reach. However, this initiative marks a significant step towards enhancing the engagement and communication channels between influencers and their followers in a more efficient and personalized manner. With Creator AI, influencers can better connect with their audience while still maintaining control over their brand image and message.
