Freshman UConn guard Stephon Castle announces his entry into the 2024 NBA Draft

Andre Drummond, a former UConn Huskies standout, is the second player from the school to declare for the 2024 NBA Draft. This decision was made by Stephon Castle, a freshman guard from Covington, Georgia who had a standout season with the Huskies.

Castle’s contributions were crucial to UConn’s success during the 2023-24 season. He averaged 11.2 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3 assists per game. His performance helped UConn secure their second consecutive national title.

The five-star recruit and McDonald’s All American was named Big East’s Freshman of the Year during his time at UConn. He elevated his game in crucial moments during the season, scoring 21 points in the Final Four victory over Alabama and adding 15 more in the championship game against Purdue.

While Karaban has also declared for the draft, he has chosen to maintain his college eligibility like Clingan did before him. The upcoming NBA Draft is highly anticipated due to Castle’s impressive performance on the court and his status as one of UConn’s top recruits in recent years.
