Tinder introduces Share My Date feature to enhance safety in dating

Tinder is introducing a new feature called “Share My Date” to make sharing date details with friends and family easier and more fun. This feature was created in response to the trend of young people under 30 already sharing aspects of their dates with their friends. According to an internal survey, 18% of users even share their date information with their mothers.

Melissa Hobley, Tinder’s Chief Marketing Officer, emphasized that “Share My Date” was designed to enhance the dating experience by making it more fun, safe, and respectful for all users. This feature streamlines the process of sharing date plans, allowing users to focus on the fun aspects of getting ready for a date, like choosing an outfit and preparing conversation topics.

With “Share My Date,” users can easily share details such as location, date, time, and a photo of their date through a simple link. Users have control over who they share this information with and can schedule an unlimited number of dates up to 30 days in advance. Additionally, users can update details if there are any last-minute changes. The feature will be rolled out in the coming months in various countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Singapore, India and more.
