The first multi-purpose humanoid robot developed in China

The Beijing Economic-Technological Development Zone, the hub of the robot industry in Beijing, was the setting for the unveiling of Tiangong, a new full-sized humanoid robot. Developed by the Beijing Humanoid Robot Innovation Center Company, Tiangong stands at 1.63 meters tall and weighs 43 kilograms. This groundbreaking robot is powered entirely by electric drive and features open-source code that allows for easy development and adaptability to various applications.

Tiangong’s impressive capabilities include vision perception sensors, high-precision inertial measurement devices, and 6-axis force sensors that enable it to process an astounding 550 trillion calculations per second. At its launch ceremony, Tiangong demonstrated its ability to navigate complex environments with ease and maintain a stable running speed of 6 km/h, even while traversing slopes and stairs.

The unveiling of Tiangong aligns with advancements in AI technology showcased at the Zhongguancun Forum 2024, highlighting China’s optimism about its integration into everyday life as meaningful tools for humans. With over 110 robot companies operating within the Beijing Economic-Technological Development Zone, this industrial chain system includes core components, complete machinery, and applications that contribute significantly to the growth of China’s AI industry.

Tiangong represents a significant leap forward in humanoid robotics technology as it enters the industry with its innovative features and capabilities.
