Tesla cuts 300 jobs at Berlin plant

In March, Tesla announced that they had hired over 140,000 workers worldwide, with a factory in Grünheide employing more than 12,000 workers. On Monday, the company revealed that they would be laying off around 30 temporary workers at the German factory. However, the CEO of Tesla emphasized the importance of cost reduction and productivity improvement in preparation for the company’s next phase of growth.

Despite not specifying an exact number of layoffs, Tesla’s annual report for 2023 indicated that they had employed 140,473 workers in December. This announcement follows a similar move in 2022 when Elon Musk announced layoffs for 10 percent of the workforce due to economic concerns. The company recently reported a decrease in vehicle deliveries in the first quarter of this year but attributed it to various factors including the crisis in the Red Sea and an incident at the Berlin plant.

In addition to the workforce reduction announcement, Tesla also provided resources on academic topics such as capstone project ideas, reflection essays, book critiques, ethics essays, citation formats, scholarship essays, and other academic writing tips on their platform.
