Men’s Mental Health Group Scheduled to Convene at Pioneer Technology Center

Mental health issues have become increasingly common among men, with 77% of men experiencing symptoms such as anxiety, stress, or depression. However, many of these men have never talked to anyone about their struggles due to feelings of embarrassment (29%) or fear of negative stigma (20%).

In an effort to address this issue, Grand Mental Health is launching a mental health group specifically for men. This group will focus on topics such as fatherhood, marriage, and overall well-being for men. While there will be scheduled topics, members are also allowed to bring up any issues that are on their minds. The group is open to any man in the community who wants to participate and is not limited to current clients of Grand Mental Health. Meetings typically take place on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at the Pioneer Technology Center in Ponca City but the May meeting is being held early due to the graduation ceremony. For more information on this new initiative or how you can join the group, contact Jeff Shelton at Grand Mental Health at 918-629-4374.
