Jackson Health Symposium to Showcase Gospel Choir Competition

The Mississippi State Department of Health is bringing a touch of soul to its upcoming “Be in Good Health” symposium. Officials have announced that the event will feature a gospel choir competition, as well as informative talks from health experts and free health screenings. The symposium will take place on Saturday at the Jackson Convention Complex, starting at 10 a.m. and running until 2 p.m.

At least eight choirs will participate in the competition, including Anderson United Methodist Church Praise Team, Pastor J Artie Stuckey & VOR, and Jemero Carter & Kingdomology. The event is being organized by the Office of Health Equity and the Community Engagement Center of the Jackson Heart Study.

Attendees can expect a day filled with soulful music, valuable health information, and the opportunity to get important health screenings.
