Scripps Sports reveals WNBA studio show lineup and plans for upcoming season

Scripps Sports is thrilled to announce its second season of broadcasting WNBA games on ION. This season, the over-the-air network will air 43 regular-season games, making it the highest number among all broadcast partners. Among these games will be coverage of eight Indiana Fever matches starring Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston.

In addition to the games, Scripps Sports will be producing weekly studio shows centered around its Friday Night Spotlight on ION, presented by State Farm. These studio shows will feature a 30-minute pre-game show with highlights from the week’s games, previews of upcoming matchups on ION, and stories from around the league. Halftime shows and wrap-up and preview shows between games will also be part of the network’s coverage.

The WNBA on ION studio shows will be hosted by Larry Smith in Atlanta and feature analysts Autumn Johnson and Meghan McKeown. Nicole Denne, Sr Dir of Content for Scripps Sports, will serve as the executive producer for the studio shows. The regular season is set to begin on May 14 with the first studio shows and games on ION starting on Friday, May 17. Most weeks, the studio show will air at 7pm ET followed by WNBA doubleheaders.
