Cowboys ink one-year deal with RB Royce Freeman

The Cowboys have added running back Royce Freeman to their roster on a one-year deal, according to Todd Archer of ESPN. Despite this signing, Dallas is still expected to draft a running back next week due to the loss of Tony Pollard. Freeman brings a wealth of experience to the team, joining Rico Dowdle, Deuce Vaughn, Malik Davis, and Snoop Conner on the depth chart.

In his last season with the Rams, Freeman played well and rushed for 319 yards and two touchdowns on 77 carries. Over the past four seasons, he has played for four different teams – Denver, Carolina, Houston and Los Angeles – since being drafted by the Broncos in 2018. His best season came as a rookie when he had 521 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 130 carries. In his second season with the Rams, Freeman had a career-high 175 touches for a total of 752 yards from scrimmage.

During the past four seasons, Freeman has recorded 209 carries for 775 yards and two touchdowns, along with 29 receptions for 204 yards. He is the second free agent signed by the Cowboys this offseason after linebacker Eric Kendricks was also added to the roster. With these new additions and their current depth chart of running backs
