The hospital recently introduced the Velys Robotic-Assisted Technology to improve the outcomes of knee replacement procedures. During an open house event, doctors demonstrated how the robot works in conjunction with the surgeons’ hands to enhance precision in alignments, balance, and cuts.
The use of Velys Robotic-Assisted Technology has allowed surgeons at Blessing Health Center to shorten surgery time by approximately two hours. Dr. Darr Leutz from Blessing Orthopedics and Sports Medicine explained that the robot helps in balancing and aligning the knee perfectly, leading to quicker recovery for patients. Many patients have shown significant progress within two weeks post-surgery, some even without the need for a cane, and with full motion already restored.
Since its introduction in July of the previous year, Blessing Health has successfully completed over 125 knee replacement surgeries using the Velys Robotic-Assisted Technology.
