Record donation made to Mays Business School to enhance programs for upcoming students

On Friday, the Mays Business School in College Station, Texas received a record-breaking donation of $25 million from the Mays Family Foundation. The generous contribution will be used to support the school’s expansion and enhance its existing programs.

The Mays Family Foundation has played a crucial role in the school’s development alongside Lowry Mays, who is also a major supporter. This significant donation is expected to propel the school to national rankings and position it as a leader in business education.

During the announcement of the donation, Nate Sharp, dean of the Mays Business School, emphasized the importance of having top students, staff, faculty, and alumni to achieve greatness. The support of the Mays Family Foundation and Lowry Mays will play a crucial role in shaping the future of the business school.

Kathy Mays Johnson and her daughter were present at the event to present the donation. Their commitment to Texas A&M and the Mays Business School was met with multiple standing ovations, highlighting their family’s impact on higher education.

John Sharp, chancellor of Texas A&M System, and Tyson Voelkel, president of Texas A&M Foundation also attended the event. They praised Lowry Mays’ philanthropy and vision for business education at Texas A&M University. Together with this latest donation from Lowry’s family which adds up to $72 million over time their legacy as supporters of higher education will continue to live on.
