Montgomery County Hosts Free Health Fair for Rural Residents this Saturday

Montgomery County is hosting a free health fair this Saturday, featuring approximately 15 vendors who will provide information on nutrition and wellness. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Montgomery County Activities Center in Grady on 147 Old School House Road.

The county has made it a priority to bring health vendors directly to individuals in rural areas, recognizing the challenges of transportation for those living in unincorporated Montgomery County. James Williams, the Montgomery County parks and recreation director, emphasized the importance of reaching out to those living in rural parts of the county through events like these.

The health fair aims to connect residents with valuable resources and educate them on topics such as stretching food dollars, making healthy food and drink choices, and staying active. Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in an exercise class during the event.

This is not the first health fair hosted by the county, as a similar event took place on April 13 at Elton N. Dean Sr. Park, drawing over 150 attendees. Williams expressed his hope that community members will come out to enjoy the fair, engage in activities, and gain important information to improve their overall health and well-being.
