Putin is estimated to not be the one behind the killing of Navalny in the United States.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is facing intense scrutiny over the death of opposition leader Alexei Navalny. Experts and U.S. intelligence officials believe that Putin must have been aware of and possibly approved the murder, given Navalny’s high political value and the lack of alternative explanations for his death.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence in the U.S. has not commented on the issue, but there were discussions about a possible prisoner exchange that could have freed Navalny and other Americans held in Russian prisons. The Anti-Corruption Foundation, founded by Navalny, alleged that Putin prevented the prisoner exchange deal and subsequently ordered Navalny’s death.

Prior to his death, there had been ongoing tensions between Russia and the United States over issues such as election interference and cybersecurity threats. These tensions are likely to escalate in the wake of Navalny’s death, with many calling into question Putin’s leadership and his regime’s human rights record.

Despite Russian authorities claiming that Navalny fell unconscious during a walk in a harsh prison yard known as the “Polar Wolf,” experts are skeptical about this explanation and believe that there may be more to the story behind his death than what is being presented by Moscow’s government. There are also concerns about transparency in Russia regarding its judicial system, with many observers calling for an independent investigation into Navalny’s case.
