Thanks to Ukraine’s war aid, the US Army is receiving new ‘Iron Fist’ technology

In recent conflicts, such as those against Hezbollah and Hamas, active protection systems like Iron Fist have shown to be effective in defending soldiers against incoming threats. These systems use small radars to detect threats and launch precision-guided rockets to destroy them.

One of the first US Army vehicles to be equipped with active protection is the M-2A4E1, which is crucial in conflicts like the ongoing war in Ukraine where drones pose a constant threat from all directions. Unlike traditional armored vehicles that focus on protecting the front from enemy attacks, active protection systems provide all-around defense for vehicles, making them more resilient to drone attacks.

As conflicts worldwide continue to evolve, cheap attack drones pose a growing threat. To protect soldiers in future conflicts, it is essential to invest in active protection technologies like Iron Fist. The initial deployment of M-2A4E1 vehicles with this technology is a positive step towards ensuring the safety and effectiveness of military operations. Sending more vehicles to Ukraine will accelerate this process and help protect US soldiers in future conflicts.
