After a period of vacancies, McIntosh Town Council can resume operations

A new era of local governance has dawned in McIntosh, a peaceful town situated between Gainesville and Ocala. With all council seats now filled, Mayor Marshall Roddy and council member Frank Ciotti eagerly awaited the arrival of newly appointed members. Following the resignation of four previous council members due to financial disclosure requirements, Gov. Ron DeSantis stepped in to make appointments on Friday.

Excitement filled the air as the new council members expressed their eagerness to serve the community. Medeiros, previously apprehensive about the financial disclosure process, found reassurance and support from his fellow council members. Lifelong resident Patty Dodd expressed her confidence in the new council, highlighting their diverse backgrounds and shared passion for McIntosh. The sense of balance and enthusiasm among the council members resonated with the community.

The town of McIntosh plans to hold a special election in the near future to fill the remaining council seats, ensuring full representation for the upcoming November elections. Richard Talbert, one of the newly sworn-in council members, felt invigorated by the support of his neighbors as he looked forward to serving his community.
