The Globe offers Youth Mental Health First Aid training

On April 20, a training on Youth Mental Health First Aid will be held at the Cottonwood County Historical Society in Windom. The program is designed to equip participants with the skills to recognize signs of mental illness and substance use disorder, offer support during a mental health crisis, and engage in conversations with family and friends about mental health.

The training is open to adults only and will include a light breakfast served at 7:30 a.m., as well as lunch provided for all attendees. Participants will also receive a $25 gift card and a certificate of participation upon completion of the program.

Facilitators leading the training are an outreach project specialist and a Ph.D. student from the University of Nebraska Medical Center. To register for the program, individuals can visit the link provided: .

This training is an excellent opportunity for adults who work with young people to enhance their knowledge and skills in Youth Mental Health First Aid and make a positive impact on the mental well-being of young people in their community. Don’t miss this chance!
