Europe Faces Challenges in Security, Economy, and Culture, Warns Macron

During a recent speech at Sorbonne University in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron expressed his concerns about the challenges Europe is currently facing in terms of security, economy, and culture. In particular, he emphasized that Europe is being surrounded by various powers, both at its borders and within its own territory. He pointed out that the growing capabilities of certain regional powers are not constrained by any inhibitions.

Macron also stressed that the current European economic model is no longer sustainable in the face of competition from the United States and China. He highlighted that Europe’s values and culture are under threat as the continent is engaged in a delicate battle of narratives, values, and imagination. This speech took place seven years after Macron’s initial address on Europe at the same university.
