Connecting Nurses to Their Future: ECU Health’s New Grad Nursing Event in the Land of Opportunities

ECU Health recently held a New Graduate Nurse Hiring event as part of its commitment to building a high-quality nursing workforce for the region. The two-day event, which took place at TowneBank Tower on East Carolina University’s campus in February, attracted 276 prospective nurses, many of whom are from eastern North Carolina. During the event, candidates had the opportunity to explore different units and connect with nursing leaders within the organization.

In total, 96 future nurses accepted positions across the ECU Health system, demonstrating the organization’s dedication to recruiting and retaining exceptional nurses to shape the future of rural healthcare. Trish Baise, Chief Nursing Executive at ECU Health, expressed her satisfaction with the event and emphasized the importance of engaging with future nurses in a casual setting before formal interviews.

Dr. Kamilah Williams, administrator for Professional Practice Development & Clinical Education at ECU Health, highlighted the numerous opportunities available for new nurses at the organization, across a variety of nursing specialties. The event showcased ECU Health as a land of opportunities for launching nursing careers.
