Boston’s TD Garden businesses gearing up for a packed sports weekend

Boston’s sports fans are gearing up for a busy weekend as the Bruins and Celtics kick off their playoff runs. The Bruins are set to start their NHL playoffs on Saturday, while the Celtics begin their NBA playoffs on Sunday. Todd Bengtson, a Boston sports fan from Florida, is thrilled about the games and has tickets for both of them.

Boston is known for its passionate and dedicated sports fans who live and breathe sports. This is unlike other towns that have less committed fan bases. The bars and restaurants in the area are preparing for large crowds and are ready to serve plenty of food and drinks to the fans. Nick Moniz, the general manager of Banners Kitchen and Tap, expects to go through hundreds of kegs and thousands of orders of chicken wings over the weekend.

Halftime Pizza is also anticipating big crowds after the games end. While they couldn’t provide an exact number, they expect to sell more than 100 pizzas during this time. In response to the increased foot traffic near TD Garden during playoffs, Boston Mayor Michell Wu announced the return of the Playoff Hub on Canal Street. This area will become a pedestrian zone before and during home playoff games, allowing fans to gather safely while supporting local businesses.
