Biden Sends Weapons to Ukraine, Secret Missiles Manifest for Kiev

President Biden has announced that the United States will be sending arms to Ukraine, including long-range missiles, as part of a $95 billion aid package. The US Senate approved the package with bipartisan support, giving the green light for the aid. The White House National Security Advisor, Jake Sullivan, confirmed that President Biden has directed his team to provide Ukraine with a significant number of ATACMS missiles for use within their territory.

The missiles, which have a range of approximately 260 kilometers, have already been used twice by Kiev and are seen as a vital component in Ukraine’s defense against Russian aggression. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky had been requesting the missiles and is grateful for the US military aid package.

President Biden emphasized the importance of moving quickly to send the necessary ammunition for air defense, artillery, missile systems, and armored vehicles to Ukraine. He stressed that this aid package is not just an investment in Ukraine’s security but also Europe’s security and that of the United States. Despite delays and obstacles in getting funding approved, President Biden highlighted the importance of supporting Ukraine against Russian aggression.

Biden also warned Putin that if he were to attack a NATO ally, it would lead to severe consequences for Russia under Article 5 of the NATO collective defense agreement. The US Senate has expressed its support for providing aid to Ukraine in order to counter Russian aggression. Overall, this move is seen as an important step towards maintaining peace and stability in Europe and beyond.
