Corey Anderson, former New Zealand fast bowler, selected for USA squad in 2024 T20 World Cup

Corey Anderson, a former player for New Zealand in both the ODI World Cup and T20 World Cup, has been named in the USA squad for the 2024 T20 World Cup. USA is set to co-host the tournament with the West Indies in June. Joining Anderson in the squad are Ali Khan and Shayan Jahangir, while Gajanand Singh and Usman Rafiq have been left out.

Ali Khan, known for his T20 league experience around the world, has played in various leagues but has limited T20I experience. Jahangir, who began his cricket career in Pakistan, has represented USA in ODIs before. Milind Kumar, a former Delhi batter and top run-scorer in India’s Ranji Trophy, is also part of the squad.

Monank Patel and Aaron Jones have been retained as captain and vice-captain, respectively, after leading the team to a series win against Canada. The squad will kick off the tournament with a match against Canada in Dallas on June 1.
