Monte Harrison, Former MLB player, signs on to play college football for Arkansas

The 28-year-old athlete, Monte Harrison, is leaving his professional baseball career behind to pursue college football. After nine seasons of playing, including three in MLB, Harrison has decided to walk-on to the Arkansas Razorbacks football team. This makes him one of the oldest college football players.

As a former four-star recruit, Harrison was committed to playing football at Nebraska before being drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers in the MLB Draft. He opted to pursue a baseball career instead of using his college eligibility. However, he has always had a passion for football and is excited to join the Razorbacks as a receiver.

During his time in the MLB, Harrison played for the Milwaukee Brewers and Miami Marlins, experiencing both minor league and major league success. He made his major league debut in 2020 and played for the Los Angeles Angels before rejoining the Brewers on a minor league contract. With his talent and determination, Harrison is ready to showcase his skills and make an impact on the football field.

Harrison’s decision to join the Arkansas Razorbacks has garnered attention, with other schools like Nebraska and Tennessee expressing interest in recruiting him. The Razorbacks are set to open their season on August 29 against Arkansas Pine-Bluff when Harrison will make his mark in the college football world at the age of 29.
