Important information for World Athletics Relays in the Bahamas

The World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24, taking place on 4-5 May at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium in Nassau, is a highly anticipated event that will feature multiple global gold medallists such as Noah Lyles, Femke Bol, Shaunae Miller-Uibo, Steven Gardiner, and Devynne Charlton. This competition is particularly important as it serves as the main qualifying event for relay events at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

The programme includes five relay events: Women’s 4x100m and 4x400m, Men’s 4x100m and 4x400m, and Mixed 4x400m. Each nation can enter one team per event, with a maximum of eight athletes per team. For the mixed 4x400m event, a maximum of six athletes (three men and three women) can be entered, with one substitution allowed after the first round.

In addition to the excitement of top athletes competing for their spots at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, prize money will also be awarded to the top eight teams in each event. Additionally, teams that break world records may receive additional prize money. The top 14 teams in each event at the World Athletics Relays Bahamas 24 will automatically qualify for places at the Paris
