Allen Parish Health Fair Captured in Photos – American Press

The Allen Parish Community Health Fair at the Grand Church in Kinder was a fun-filled event that showcased wellness and healthy living. With more than 30 informational booths, attendees had the opportunity to learn about the services available in their community, including healthcare and healthy lifestyle options.

One of the highlights of the event was Gerald Romero from Kinder receiving vaccination information from Ashlyn Fontonet and Brianna England, who were dressed in ’80s-themed attire to match the theme of the health fair. Additionally, Amber Ashworth, Southwest Louisiana Regional Safety Coalition Coordinator, provided tips for safe driving to Brenda Johnson from Kinder during the event.

Phlebotomist Devan Fruge of Allen Parish Community Healthcare conducted bloodwork to screen Phyllis Lawrence from Kinder for diabetes and prediabetes. More than 30 vendors were present at the event, offering information, health screenings, promotional items, and more. During this fun day of learning and exploration, Gene Ingram, perioperative services director for Allen Parish Community Healthcare played giant operation game while Coushatta Tribe of Louisiana Chairman Jonathan Cernek served traditional Coushatta dish of chawahka (corn soup) to Richard Stokes of Kinder.
