Denny Hamlin emerges victorious at Dover Cup race: Who came out on top and who fell short?

The Dover race was a battle of winners and losers. Denny Hamlin emerged victorious, passing Kyle Larson on the final lap and leading for 72 laps. With this win, Hamlin has now won three out of the last seven races and has been in the lead for all 11 races this season.

However, not everyone was happy with their performance at Dover. Bubba Wallace finished 32nd, falling out of a playoff spot after another disappointing race. Christopher Bell was involved in a crash with Wallace and Smith, finishing 34th. Ryan Preece had an even worse result, finishing last due to a burning issue in his car that he deemed “completely unnecessary”.

On the positive side of things, Kyle Busch had his best finish since Atlanta by coming in fourth place. Noah Gragson and Daniel Hemric also finished in the top 10 at Dover, marking their back-to-back top 10 finishes. Corey Heim made his Cup debut at Dover as well, finishing 25th.

As for the all-time Cup wins list, Hamlin is now tied for 12th with Dave Ragan. Despite his impressive performance at Dover, Hamlin still seeks his first series title.
