Intersection patrolled by police, situation remains peaceful

In the village, police forces are present and road patrols are monitoring the area. Despite this, the roads remain open for travel. There were no groups observed conducting work in the demarcation zones visible from the region.

Yesterday, a significant number of police officers were stationed at Kheirimli’s entrance, preparing to prevent surveyors from entering areas considered their own by Kirants residents. Villagers reported a sense of anticipation in the air as they awaited news of whether the surveyors would be allowed to enter their homes.

Meanwhile, a march led by His Holiness Bagrat departed from Sevan and was en route to Yerevan. The goal of the march was to protest the demarcation process and express concerns that Armenian territories, including Kirants, could be transferred to Azerbaijan. Citizens demanded security guarantees amidst these changes.

While some view demarcation as a means of reducing security risks, others warn that potential conflicts could arise until borders are clearly defined. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has also expressed his concerns about this issue, urging caution and emphasizing the need for clear communication with all parties involved in the process.

As tensions continue to rise among those affected by border changes, it remains uncertain what may happen in this peaceful village on its path towards resolving one of its most pressing issues: defining its borders with Azerbaijan.
