NHL All-Stars featured in U.S. men’s hockey lineup for world championship roster

The upcoming world championship is a significant event for USA Hockey, as the team prepares for the return of NHL players to the Olympics in 2026. The roster for the tournament is star-studded, with top talent such as Brady Tkachuk, Johnny Gaudreau, Seth Jones, Dylan Larkin, and Zach Werenski. Luke Hughes, a young defenseman for the New Jersey Devils, is also on the team.

Recently, U.S. world championship teams have typically included one or two NHL All-Stars. However, this year’s five All-Star players are a standout selection. Despite many top American players still competing in the Stanley Cup playoffs and their potential impact on team availability for worlds, more players are expected to be added to the roster before the tournament starts in Czechia in May.

Head coach John Hynes will lead the team at worlds, aiming to improve upon their fourth-place finishes in the last two championships. USA Hockey has a history of success at the world championship, with six bronze medals and one gold medal dating back to 1933. The return of NHL players to the Olympics in 2026 is highly anticipated by hockey fans after their absence from the Games since 2014 Sochi Olympics.
