Biden has already announced a new assistance package

US President Joe Biden announced a new military package for Ukraine after signing a corresponding law on Wednesday. The package includes anti-aircraft equipment, artillery, missile systems, and armored vehicles, which will be sent to Ukraine in the next few hours. Biden emphasized that this move is not only an investment in Ukraine’s security but also in the security of Europe, warning that Russia could potentially target a NATO partner next.

Meanwhile, the US Congress approved a $61 billion package for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan after months of being blocked due to Iran’s major attack on Israel. The aid package includes increased funding for weapons and ammunition for the US military’s inventory, which will indirectly benefit Ukraine as the US usually provides equipment from its own stocks to countries under attack, including Ukraine.

The rest of the aid package includes further military support, financial assistance, and provisions for long-range ATACMS missile systems. Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymr Zelensky discussed the delivery of new long-range ATACMS missiles during their meeting earlier this week. However, details about the specific models were not provided at this time.

In other news, TikTok owner Bytedance faced new legislation in the US with a potential ban on the popular video platform if it does not separate from it within a year. The law against Bytedance was passed by the Senate with a large majority citing concerns about Chinese influence and access to American user data. TikTok has denied these allegations and plans to challenge the law in court. This controversy highlights ongoing tensions between the US and China in the tech industry.

Overall, these developments highlight growing concerns about security both in Europe and Asia as well as ongoing tensions between different nations around the world.
