The National Museum of Nuclear Science & History is proud to celebrate Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Month with a temporary exhibit that highlights the contributions, scientific achievements, and impact of AAPI scientists and engineers. The exhibit, set to launch on May 1 and run through May 31, will be located in the museum’s Periodic Hall and will showcase individuals such as microbiologist Yee Ching Wong-Staal, known for her work in AIDS research, and Ellison Onizuka, the first person of Japanese descent to fly in space.

According to Jennifer Hayden, the president and CEO of the National Museum of Nuclear Science & History, the museum is honored to highlight the achievements and contributions of these outstanding individuals. She stated in a news release that these scientists enrich our nation and hopes that the exhibit will offer new inspirational role models for future generations.
