Discovering Your School Security Arsenal: Enhancing Districts with Technology

Guy Grace and Mike Newton are two experts in school security who have extensive experience in the field. In a recent webcast, Grace, the K-12 National Security Program Manager at ASSA ABLOY Door Security Solutions, shared his expertise in the security industry. Grace has 38 years of experience in security and served as the director of security and emergency planning for Littleton Public Schools for over three decades. He was recognized as the 2020 K-12 Campus Safety Director of the Year and has received many other national and security industry awards.

On the other hand, Newton is a SLED Account Executive at Convergint who focuses on the K-12 vertical in Colorado. He previously worked as the director of safety and security for Elizabeth School District, where he was responsible for all aspects of physical security, emergency management, threat assessment, emergency communication, and continuity of operations for the district. Newton received the K-12 Director of the Year Award from Campus Safety during his time at Elizabeth SD. Before working in Elizabeth, Newton served in the U.S. Air Force and the Colorado Air National Guard.
