Two Montana breweries, Lewis and Clark Brewing Company and Copper Furrow Brewing, recently received awards at the World Beer Cup, raising the bar for craft beer in the state. Max Pigman, owner and president of Lewis and Clark Brewing Company, expressed his excitement and pride at winning a gold award for Miner’s Gold Hefeweizen American wheat beer. The beer is known for being the most award-winning wheat beer in history and has won gold at the World Beer Cup for the second time.
Pigman credited the quality and consistency of the product to his team, emphasizing their dedication to producing a top-notch beer. With over 2,000 breweries submitting more than 9,000 beers, the competition was stiff, but Lewis and Clark Brewing Company stood out among the rest.
Copper Furrow Brewing also received recognition at the World Beer Cup, earning a bronze award for its Tmavé international dark lager. This was the first time Copper Furrow Brewing has medaled at the prestigious event, making it a significant achievement for the team. Head brewer Nick Diehl explained that Tmavé is a dark Czech lager with a richness and slightly roasted taste, making it a unique and enjoyable option for beer connoisseurs.
Diehl expressed his satisfaction at winning such a major award, highlighting the hard work and dedication that goes into crafting award-winning beers. In addition to these two Helena breweries, two other Montana breweries – Sacred Brewing Company in Kalispell and MAP Brewing Company in Bozeman – also earned Bronze awards at the competition.
