The Elite racers are now in a race against the clock to determine who will advance to the semi-finals, following the Timed Training session. In the first race of 2024, Tahnee Seagrave has shown strong form coming out of the off-season by taking the top spot in the Elite Women’s qualifying round. She crossed the finish line with a time nearly two seconds faster than the next rider, showing her determination to secure a second elite win at Fort William.
Nina Hoffmann finished the session in second place with a consistent run that kept her in touch with the leader until split four, where she lost around a second to the top qualifier. Anna Newkirk put on an impressive performance, making gains in the bottom sectors and ending her qualifying ride in third place.
Vali Höll, despite being the 2023 overall winner and current World Champion, couldn’t quite match the top time and dropped to fifth place in the standings. While she did briefly take the lead during the second sector, she lost around 5.4 seconds in split three through the upper woods.
