TikTok to Begin Identifying AI-Generated Content as Technology Gains Wider Use

TikTok has recently announced that it will start automatically labeling content created by artificial intelligence when it is uploaded from specific platforms. This move is aimed at combating misinformation on the platform by making users aware of content that has been generated using AI technology.

Adam Presser, TikTok’s Head of Operations & Trust and Safety, made the announcement on ABC’s “Good Morning America.” He emphasized the importance of allowing users to distinguish between fact and fiction, while also acknowledging the potential for AI to enhance creativity and audience engagement.

Previously, TikTok encouraged users to voluntarily label content created or edited using AI. However, with the new policy in place, any content that includes realistic images, audio, or video generated by AI technology will be automatically labeled. This move reflects TikTok’s commitment to transparency and responsible content sharing on its platform.
