Results of Round 1 of the 2024 FIM Supermoto World Championship

The 2024 FIM Supermoto World Championship kicked off in Spain with the GP of Comunitat Valenciana in Albaida. Riders from all over the world gathered to compete in the first round of the championship. French rider Thomas Chareyre emerged victorious, riding a Honda CRF450R. He battled it out with the number-one plate holder, Mark Reiner Schmidt of Germany, to claim the overall win. Schmidt, on a TM bike, faced tough competition from KTM rider Julen Avila Cortes of Spain who finished third overall. Italian Elia Sammartin and Spanish rider Ferran Cardus rounded out the top five overall positions.

In addition to the main class, there were also races for SuperMoto Legends. Czech rider Petr Vorlicek on a Honda clinched the victory with Great Britain’s Jay Smith on KTM and Scott Murray on Honda following close behind. Mark Reiner Schmidt from Germany finished as the runner-up on a TM bike.

The next round of the championship is scheduled for May 25-26 at GP of Sardegna. Riders will continue to battle it out for supremacy and for a spot on the podium. Stay tuned for more updates and results on the 2024 FIM Supermoto World Championship as it progresses throughout the year.
