Cosber Technology’s hydrogen power cubes (HPC) certified by TÜV SÜD

Cosber Technology, a leading manufacturer of vehicle testing equipment and developer of innovative solutions for sustainable energy, has received three certificates from TÜV SÜD for their Smart H2 Energy Platform. The platform offers a comprehensive solution for self-sufficient energy supply using hydrogen for buildings, and features key components such as Hydrogen Power Cubes (HPCs). These cubes consist of an AEM electrolyser, a hydrogen storage unit, a fuel cell power generation system, a power inverter system, and a heat exchange system. When combined with photovoltaic or wind energy systems, the HPCs can meet all the energy needs of buildings using renewable energy and hydrogen.

TÜV SÜD Korea’s Head of Industry Service, Dr. Helge Knobbe, highlighted the challenges faced during the certification process due to the many components in the HPCs. The platform had to comply with regulations such as Machinery Directive 2023/1230, Pressure Equipment Directive 2024/68/EU, and EMC Directive 2014/30/EU for electromagnetic compatibility. After successful testing, TÜV SÜD presented Safety Risk Assessment Reports and certificates for the HPC-1000 Plus and HPC-3000 Plus to Cosber Technology.

Cosber had proactively considered regulatory requirements during the development of the Smart H2 Energy Platform and its key components. This made the certification process smoother and faster. TÜV SÜD supports the entire hydrogen value chain from production to application in various sectors through its expertise in hydrogen technologies.
