Tom Stoltman emerges victorious at the 2024 World’s Strongest Man competition

In 2024, Tom Stoltman claimed his title as the “World’s Strongest Man” for the third time in four years after winning the competition. His victory was nearly wire-to-wire, as he sealed the win on Sunday by dominating in his signature event, the Atlas Stones, finishing with 53 total points. This put him 5.5 points ahead of second-place finisher Mitchell Hooper, who had been defending champion from 2023.

Mitchell Hooper was unable to stop Stoltman from securing another title, just as he had done last year when he prevented Stoltman from achieving a rare three-peat. With this win, Stoltman now shares the title of third on the all-time winners list of the WSM with American Bill Kazmaeir (1980, 1981, 1982). At only 29 years old, Stoltman consistently placed no lower than third in any of the six events held over the two-day finals. He tied for the most points in two of those events: Max Axle and Keg Toss on day one.

Evan Singleton was the highest-placing American in this year’s competition and finished in third place overall. Singleton was also America’s top performer last year when he finished tied for fourth place. Meanwhile, Luke Stoltman finished ninth place shortly after winning Europe’s Strongest Man competition. Overall, Tom Stoltman’s victory is a testament to his incredible strength and determination to become one of the greatest lifters of all time.
