Netflix secures new live-action Scooby-Doo series deal

Netflix has secured the rights to a live-action Scooby-Doo series titled “Scooby-Doo! The Live-Action Series.” The competition for this project was intense among multiple streaming platforms, but ultimately, Netflix emerged victorious with a commitment to high-budget production.

Greg Berlanti will produce the series in collaboration with Warner Bros. Television, while screenwriters Josh Appelbaum and Scott Rosenberg will write the scripts based on the Hanna-Barbera characters. This upcoming series promises to offer a modern take on the beloved cartoon that first debuted in 1969.

The show will follow Fred Jones, Daphne Blake, Velma Dinkley, Shaggy Rogers, and the talking Great Dane as they solve supernatural mysteries. Fans can expect a high-quality production that stays true to the spirit of the original cartoon while introducing new elements to captivate audiences of all ages.

The success of another Berlanti Prods./WBTV series on Netflix called Dead Boy Detectives has paved the way for this exciting addition to the beloved franchise. With a talented team behind it and support from a major streaming platform like Netflix, “Scooby-Doo! The Live-Action Series” promises to be an engaging and entertaining addition to Scooby’s adventures.

Overall, this new Scooby-Doo series is sure to please longtime fans of the franchise and introduce new viewers to its iconic characters and their supernatural mysteries.
