Schnuck Markets debuts accelerator program to support diverse-owned businesses

In 2020, Schnucks Markets, Inc. launched the Unity Is Power diversity, equity, and inclusion plan to support racial equity organizations like the Urban League. This initiative has been recognized with awards such as the Civic Leadership Award from ULSTL and being named one of America’s Greatest Workplaces for Diversity in 2024 by Newsweek.

Schnucks Markets is a family-owned grocery retailer that was founded in St. Louis in 1939 and operates 115 stores in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, and Wisconsin. The company employs nearly 12,000 teammates and ranks as the 14th largest privately-owned grocer in the US by Forbes in 2023. Additionally, Schnucks donates over $15 million in food annually to pantries.

To further support diverse-owned businesses in their success, Schnucks Markets has partnered with the Mid-States Minority Supplier Development Council to present SchnucksSpringboard – a diverse-owned business accelerator program that provides education, resources, and access to opportunities for local entrepreneurs. Interested business owners can apply before May 12 by visiting schnucks.com/springboard. Those selected will have the opportunity to conduct product trials at select Schnucks stores and receive $5,000 in equity-free funding along with attending business development classes at Schnucks’ St. Louis headquarters.
