The 2024 World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest is just around the corner, taking place at Liberty Park from May 15-18. Fans can look forward to some amazing entertainment, including Barbecue Sauce Wrestling on Wednesday night, a performance by alternative rock band Marcy Playground on Thursday, and a show by local rock band Ingram Hill on Friday. DJ MicTee from K97 will close out the festivities with a performance on Saturday at the Cattlemen’s Main Stage.
At the Home Depot Outdoor Kitchen, attendees can meet and greet some of the biggest names in barbecue, such as Moe Cason, Joe Davidson, Megan & Jason Day, Chris Lilly, and more. Free samples of delicious barbecue will be available for everyone to enjoy. The McCormick Demo Stage will offer culinary tips and a special meet and greet with Rocky Stubblefield of Stubb’s Bar-B-Q Sauce.
For those interested in judging barbecue, the Kingsford Tour of Champions allows guests to visit teams, sample barbecue, and cast their ballot. Tickets for these events and more are available online.
