Puyallup Tribal Enterprises Invests in Skip Technology

Skip Technologies, a company based in Portland, Oregon, is focused on developing a unique liquid battery for large, long-duration stationary energy storage ranging from 4 to over 100 hours. Recently, the company received an investment from Puyallup Tribal Enterprises, although the exact amount of the deal was not disclosed. This investment will be used to expand operations and further develop the innovative battery technology.

Under the leadership of CEO Brennan Gantner, Skip Technologies has created a new type of battery that utilizes bromine and hydrogen instead of the traditional lithium. This design is innovative in that it has no moving parts and is fully recyclable. By using the cost-effective and relatively safe bromine, along with allowing hydrogen to evaporate in case of leakage, the battery demonstrates an environmentally conscious approach.

The company’s commitment to sustainability aligns with Puyallup Tribal Enterprises’ vision of protecting and preserving the environment. In a statement regarding the investment, CEO Reynaldo Hinojosa emphasized their shared values and expressed excitement about partnering with Skip Technologies. He noted that Puyallup Tribal Enterprises was impressed by Skip Technologies’ innovative approach to energy storage and their dedication to creating high-quality local jobs.

Overall, Skip Technologies is poised for growth and further development of their liquid battery technology with the support of their recent investment from Puyallup Tribal Enterprises.
