Copilot Enhances Microsoft Teams with Video Call Summaries and Expanded Features

Microsoft has recently made improvements to Copilot for Teams, aimed at enhancing collaboration during meetings, calls, and chat messaging. According to a recent survey conducted by the company, users of Copilot have reported time savings of eleven minutes and improved work performance after eleven weeks of use.

To introduce these improvements, Microsoft plans to phase them out in stages. Enhancements to meetings are scheduled for May, while chat messaging will be updated in April and call features in June. With these updates, users will be able to extract meeting information, adapt message styles, and receive call summaries using Copilot within the Teams platform.

In addition to these enhancements, Microsoft has announced the default activation of Intelliframe on Teams Rooms meeting room devices. This feature will provide equal visibility to all meeting participants, regardless of whether they are in the room or connecting remotely. It will also enhance speech recognition capabilities for more accurate transcription and information extraction with Copilot.

Furthermore, Microsoft is integrating Windows Autopilot into Teams Rooms to streamline the deployment of meeting room devices by IT teams. The company has also expanded the BYOD ecosystem with features such as shared viewing mode, smart speaker support, and BYOD IT Management for administrators.

Lastly, Microsoft has announced upcoming enhancements to the Teams Phone calling solution that will enable users to transfer, forward and handle incoming calls from call queues or auto attendants in case of network interruptions starting in summer. These updates are part of Microsoft’s ongoing efforts to improve collaboration and productivity within the Teams platform.
