Dodgers defeat Marlins with strong performance from Buehler

Shohei Ohtani’s impressive power surge continued as he hit his fourth home run in three games and helped the Los Angeles Dodgers secure a 6-3 victory over the Miami Marlins on Monday night. This game marked Walker Buehler’s first start in nearly two years, adding to the excitement.

Ohtani made history by becoming the first player this season to hit 11 home runs when he crushed a pitch from Roddery Muñoz for a two-run shot in the first inning. This was the eighth time in Ohtani’s career that he had homered in three consecutive games, and the fourth time in a three-game span.

Freddie Freeman followed Ohtani’s homer with a solo shot, marking the first time this season that the Dodgers had gone back-to-back. James Outman and Teoscar Hernández also contributed by hitting home runs as the Dodgers extended their winning streak to four games.

Despite the Marlins scoring twice in the first inning, Buehler settled down and pitched four innings, giving up three runs and six hits while striking out four. Ryan Yarbrough and Alex Vesia also had strong performances on the mound for the Dodgers.

In what looked like an intense matchup, Gavin Lux, Outman, and Hernández continued their power display by hitting home runs in innings two and three respectively. The Marlins saw Nick Gordon contribute with a homer but ultimately fell short of tying things up.

The game was full of exciting moments as both teams put forth their best efforts to secure victory. The Marlins activated INF Jake Burger after being sidelined for 20 games due to an injury while the Dodgers placed RHP Joe Kelly on the injured list. Both teams are looking forward to continuing their rivalry when Miami’s RHP Edward Cabrera faces off against Dodgers’ RHP Yoshinobu Yamamoto on Tuesday night.
