Ponsse announces layoffs of over 20 employees in Finland

Forest machine manufacturing company Ponsse has announced that it will be reducing approximately 61 jobs as a result of change negotiations. The number of layoffs is lower than initially estimated, thanks to the company’s efforts to place employees into new jobs that opened up with the change in operating model.

Ponsse’s change negotiations concluded about a month ago, but at that time the exact number of layoffs was still unclear. The company had initially estimated a total reduction of 120–140 jobs, with 50–60 of them in Finland. However, due to the company’s proactive approach and commitment to supporting its workforce, many employees have been able to transition into new roles within the company or elsewhere.

Despite the challenges faced by the company, Ponsse is adapting to the changing circumstances and working to ensure a smooth transition for its employees. The company is committed to supporting its workforce through these changes and is actively seeking opportunities to help employees find new roles within the company or elsewhere. With a focus on maintaining a strong and resilient workforce, Ponsse is navigating through this challenging period with determination and strategic planning.
