French bakers claim world record by bringing home longest baguette

In the Paris suburb of Suresnes, a group of chefs recently baked the world’s longest baguette, setting a new Guinness World Record with a length of 435.1 feet. This achievement surpassed the previous record set by Italian bakers in Como.

The team was thrilled to have broken the record and were proud that it happened in France. The impressive baguette was made according to French code at the Suresnes Baguette Show, and was an astonishing 235 times longer than a traditional baguette loaf.

To have a record verified by Guinness World Records, individuals or groups must apply for recognition from the organization. Standard applications can take up to 16 weeks to review while paid priority applications take up to five business days.

In order to achieve a Guinness World Record, record breakers must submit evidence of their attempt for review by the organization. They may also apply to have an adjudicator witness their attempt. Successful record breaking requires careful planning, execution and verification of the attempt.
