Ludvig Åberg pulls out of Wells Fargo tournament due to knee injury

Peter Malnati will replace Ludvig Åberg in the Wells Fargo Championship field this week after the 24-year-old Swede announced he would not be participating due to a knee injury. This news comes as a disappointment for golf fans who were eagerly anticipating seeing Åberg compete at Quail Hollow Club for the first time.

After consulting with his doctors, Åberg decided that it was best for him to take some extra time to rest and recover from his knee issue. Although he did not specify which knee was injured, he expressed excitement about playing in next week’s PGA Championship and is looking forward to getting back on the course soon.

In his last major appearance at the Masters, Åberg finished as the runner-up, marking his first career major start. He had not played since finishing T-10 the following week at the RBC Heritage. With Åberg withdrawing from the Wells Fargo Championship, Malnati will take his spot in the field through the Aon Next 10, ensuring that there will still be 69 players competing.
