Churchill Downs and NBC Sports to Continue Historic Partnership, Kentucky Derby Coverage to Air on NBC and Peacock Until 2032

The Kentucky Derby has found its permanent home with NBC Sports, as the two have announced an extension of their partnership through 2032. This agreement marks 23 years of collaboration between the two, making NBCUniversal the first media company to have such a long-standing relationship with this prestigious horse racing event.

NBC Sports CEO Rick Cordella expressed his pride in the continued partnership, highlighting the network’s commitment to providing comprehensive and immersive coverage of the Kentucky Derby. Churchill Downs CEO Bill Carstanjen echoed this sentiment, praising NBC’s artful storytelling and coverage of the event over the years.

Under the extended agreement, NBC Sports will have multiplatform rights to broadcast the Kentucky Derby, Kentucky Oaks, and Derby and Oaks Day programming on various NBCUniversal platforms. The Kentucky Derby is set to hold its 150th “Run for the Roses” today at 2:30 p.m. ET, with coverage available on NBC and Peacock.

With this milestone solidifying their partnership, NBC Sports continues to be a trusted partner in delivering comprehensive coverage of this iconic event for years to come.
