Ronald Acuna Jr. of the Atlanta Braves to join Rimas Sports as a signee

Ronald Acuna Jr. of the Braves is expected to sign with Rimas Sports as his marketing and off-field business agent, according to sources cited by Brittany Ghiroli of THE ATHLETIC. However, the agency is facing disciplinary actions from the MLBPA due to the revocation of their agent William Arroyo’s license and two other employees pending certification. This leaves Rimas with only one certified agent, Michael Velazquez, raising concerns about its long-term viability in baseball.

When asked if he had signed with Rimas, Acuna said it had not happened yet but indicated that it was likely to occur. It is believed that Acuna is not signing with Rimas to be his agent, but rather to handle his marketing and off-field business. The exact reason for Rimas’ disciplinary action from the MLBPA is unknown.

Acuna previously worked with Xample for his marketing and branding but are not listed as his agent at the MLBPA. His previous representation was Peter E. Greenberg and Associates, who negotiated his contract extension before being acquired by Rep 1 Baseball in February 2020.
