Jimmies softball team splits doubleheader with Doane – Jamestown Sun

On Friday, April 19, the University of Jamestown faced Doane University in a doubleheader at the Nelson Family Bubble. The Jimmies started off with a 2-1 win over the Tigers in the first game. In the top of the third inning, Anna Prauner of the Tigers hit a sacrifice fly that scored Jeryn Allen, putting Doane up 1-0. However, in the bottom of the sixth inning, Mackenzie Lefebvre of Jamestown hit a double that drove in two runners and gave them a 2-1 lead.

After allowing one run in the sixth inning, Hope Ransome of Jamestown retired four of the next five hitters and pitched a complete game. She gave up only one run on four hits while striking out six and walking two. On Doane’s side, Abbi Arroyo started the game and pitched 5.1 innings, allowing one earned run on five hits with one walk and one strikeout.
